The basic rule
Half Slack is a one-button office-stealth timing game. You play a worker sneaking a 90-second break: hold the SLACK pose (phone out) to earn points, and flip to the WORK pose (head down) the instant the boss's gaze sweeps toward you. If the gaze lands while you're slacking, you're busted.
Controls
Desktop
- Click / tap the play area, or press Space / Enter, to flip between SLACK and WORK.
- The same input starts and restarts a run.
- Watch the 0.8-second warning glow before the gaze lands.
Mobile & touch
- Tap anywhere to flip your pose.
- Vibration confirms a dodge or a bust.
How scoring works
- Safe SLACK: +10 points per 0.8s, and an unbroken slack streak climbs ×1 → ×2 → ×3 (one tier every 15s).
- WORK (ducking): +2 points per 0.8s — safe, but barely pays.
- Caught: your streak resets and you lose 25% of your current score.
The daily challenge
Every UTC day serves the same boss route to everyone. One scored attempt per day; your best is what posts to the board. Three boss moods (calm / neutral / angry) change the rhythm, and each day hides one double-gaze combo you must duck twice in a row.
Tips for beginners
- Slack about 70% of the time; duck the other 30% when the gaze is near.
- React to the warning glow, not the landing.
- Build the streak to ×3 — that's where the big scores live.
- Audio is off by default (it's a work game); turn it on if you like.
